WHAT IS A GATE VALVE?

The movement of gate valve

The gate of the gate valve moves linearly with the valve stem. Usually, the lifting rod has trapezoidal threads. Through the nut on the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotary motion is changed into a linear motion, and the operating torque is changed into an operation thrust. When opening the valve, when the lifting height of the gate is equal to 1: 1 times the valve diameter, the fluid channel is completely clear.

 

 

Types of gate valves

According to the main material classification, gate valves can be divided into:

The advantages of gate valve

1. Low flow resistance. The medium channel inside the valve body is straight-through, the medium flows in a straight line, and the flow resistance is small.

2. Less effort when opening and closing. Compared with the shut-off valve, because whether it is open or closed, the movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium.

3. Large height and long opening and closing time. The opening and closing stroke of the gate is large, and the descending is carried out by the screw.

4. The medium can flow in any direction on both sides, and the gate valve is easy to install. The gate valve channel is symmetrical on both sides.

5. The structural length (the distance between the two connecting end faces of the casing) is small.
