4. The inlet and outlet of the valve should be sealed with wax paper or plastic sheet to prevent dirt from entering. The surface of the valve that can rust in the atmosphere should be coated with anti-rust oil to protect it.
5. When placing the outdoor valve, it must be covered with rain-proof and dust-proof items such as linoleum or crepe. The warehouse where the valve is stored should be kept dry and dry.
Use maintenance
The purpose of maintenance is to extend the life of the valve and ensure reliable opening and closing.
1. The stem thread often rubs against the stem nut. Apply a little butter or graphite powder to lubricate.
2. For valves that are not closed frequently, turn the handwheel periodically and add lubricant to the stem threads to prevent rust.
3. For outdoor valves, protect the valve stem from rain, snow and dust. If the valve is mechanically driven, add oil to the gearbox on time and keep the valve clean.
4. Do not rely on the valve to support other heavy objects, do not stand on the valve.
Valve overhaul
1. When inspecting the valve, it is required to be carried out in a clean environment. First clean the outer surface of the valve. Check the appearance of damage and make a record. Then remove the valve parts, clean with kerosene (do not use gasoline to avoid fire), check the damage of parts.
2. Perform a strength test on the valve body bonnet. If it is a high-pressure valve, it will also carry out non-destructive testing, such as ultrasonic injury, x-ray inspection.
3. The sealing ring can be tested with red powder, the matching degree of the valve seat and the shutter. Check the stem for bending, corrosion, and thread wear. Check the valve scale and the degree of nut wear.

5. Reassemble the valve. When assembling, replace the gasket and packing. Strength tests and leak tests were performed.
