Globe valves are one of the most widely used valves. Overview of globe valves

The opening and closing part of the stop valve is a plug-shaped valve disc, the sealing surface is flat or conical, and the valve disc moves linearly along the center line of the fluid. The movement form of the valve stem is also a lifting and rotating lever type. The shut-off valve refers to a valve in which a closing member moves along a center line of a valve seat.

According to this type of movement of the valve disc, the change in the valve seat port is proportional to the valve stroke. Because this type of valve has a relatively short opening or closing stroke and a very reliable shut-off function, and because the change in valve seat opening is proportional to the stroke of the valve disc, it is very suitable for regulating flow. Therefore, this type of valve is often used for shut-off or adjustment and throttling.

 

 

Structure of globe valve

The structural form of the valve body is straight-through, direct-flow and right-angle. Straight-through is the most common structure, but its fluid resistance is greatest. DC fluids have low resistance and are mostly used for fluids with solid particles or high viscosity. Right-angle valve bodies are mostly forged and are suitable for globe valves with smaller passage and higher pressure.

 

 

Installation and maintenance precautions for globe valves

1. stop valves operated by handwheels and handles can be installed at any position in the pipeline.

2. Handwheels, handles and moving mechanisms are not allowed for lifting.

3. The flow direction of the medium should be consistent with the direction of the arrow shown on the valve body.

 

 

Selection principle of globe valve

1. Globe valves should be used on pipes or devices with high temperature and high pressure media. Such as thermal power plant, nuclear power plant, petrochemical system high temperature, high pressure pipeline.

2. On pipelines where convection resistance is not strict. That is, where pressure loss is not considered.

3. Needle valve, instrument valve, sampling valve and pressure gauge valve can be used for small valves.

4. There are flow adjustment or pressure adjustment, but the accuracy of the adjustment is not high, and the diameter of the pipeline is relatively small. For a pipeline with a nominal through diameter of ≤50mm, it should be selected.

5. In urban water supply and heat supply projects, the nominal pass through smaller pipes can be used with globe valve, balance valve or plunger valve, such as the nominal pass through the pipeline less than 150mm.
